PRIVACY NOTICE
This should go on the website under its own tab “Privacy & Cookies”. It is the main Privacy Notice for the business…others will appear on the footer of emails and forms that collect data. This Privacy Notice replaces any previous Data Protection Policy and Cookie Policy and should appear on the website.
PRIVACY & COOKIES
I am Jill Jones and I am a Celebrant. I may be contacted via email at jill@ceremoniesandchapters.co.uk or by telephone 07591 187950. There is also a contact form on the website. I have profiles on Facebook and Instagram too. I may process “personal data” and/or “special category data” as defined in UK data protection legislation, including UK GDPR. This processing may be on my own behalf or on behalf of my clients – either way I process data as part of the contracted services and/or my administration. I realise the importance of confidentiality. Data may be processed on paper and/or in electronic formats. When processed electronically, data may be held on a cloud based system and/or on a local server. Regardless of how data are processed, all feasible security measures are in place. Data are held as long as they are relevant to the purpose for collection and/or if there is a statutory retention period. All data are destroyed by secure means when no longer required.
If there is any international connection to the services offered, please note that as I work and am based in the UK, it is the UK laws that are extant.
Data may be shared with third parties as part of my contracted services (which may include Funeral Directors) and/or if I am required by law to do so. I cannot accept any liability for any processing conducted by a third party outside my remit.
As part of my compliance, I have conducted a cookie audit on my website. Cookies are internet files used by the system to view websites and their content. My website does not utilise any intrusive cookies. The only cookies used are for analytical purposes so that my website may be updated to improve your experience.
None of the above affects your rights under the legislation, in particular your right to access the data I hold on you. If you wish to request a copy of your data, please submit it in writing/email to me. Please include enough information to enable me to identify you and search for appropriate data.

COOKIE BAR
There is currently a cookie bar on the site. There is ONLY a legal requirement to have such a feature if the website itself utilises cookies for targeted advertising. There is no evidence that this is the case and therefore I recommend the cookie bar be removed. It does not refer to any cookies used by the site and indeed actually does not work as it should – ie if “reject all” is selected, any cookies have already been set and not removed.
The “necessary” cookies it refers to are all functional cookies and therefore not subject to the legislation. There is no legal requirement to have a cookie bar on this site.
FORMS ON THE WEBSITE
There is a Contact form and “Leave A Comment” (blog/memorial service section) on the website which collect data (eg “name, email address etc) and there should be a short notice on both of these as they collect personal data:

On the Blog page there is a tick box about saving the name email and website on “the browser”. This will be left on the user’s system, not the Celebrant’s system – I think!- and therefore unnecessary. It is not done using a cookie either. If the user’s system is set to “auto fill” on any form, then this will happen automatically. On the blog comment section, the name and email fields are compulsory and therefore the tick box statement seems superfluous.
